Overcome
03:20
|
|||
We’re talking on the phone for hours and hours
But no one hears the fall
Every time you laugh it hurts me now
I try to overcome
A year has past and I can still taste it
A salty drop in your eyes
I always wanted to be
A never ending circumstance
But who’s to put your smile on my face
Do you still blame me for the lies you’re meant to erase
What was should have been more
We both know it was so much more…
We knew it was so much more…

On The Run
01:51
|
|||
Where is the sun
We’re all on the run
Ups and downs all around
It gets hard to live
The art of belief
You don’t have love in your heart
You don’t love your heart
Just tell me more about my father
Somehow beloved and bewitched
A gentle kind of disaster
But all for real…..all for real
Brave undone still on the run
When fear comes inside
And blocks all your vibes
You don’t have love in your heart
Don’t love your heart
Just tell me more about my father
Somehow beloved and bewitched
A gentle kind of disaster
Looks just like me… just like me…

Dialogue
03:22
|
|||
To figure out a dialogue
Is all that’s left for you around
I can’t help until you start
Put yourself apart and laugh
Analogue is just surreal
Get lost and find a deal
Is all you can do right now
Drug abuse and alcohol
This is what we’re standing for
A thousand kisses deep we fall
Everything’s without control
Now we’ve reached the ground
Looking up for some hours
Cleans your dishonest behaviour
Sometimes all that we are
Seems like fools in the dark
We can’t always run away
Until we reach that open door
I can’t help until you start
Put yourself apart and laugh
Analogue is just surreal
Get lost and find a deal
Is all you can do right now
Looking up for some hours
Cleans your dishonest behaviour
Sometimes all that we are
Seems like fools in the dark

So Near
02:27
|
|||
Sometimes I feel like I wanna leave this place
To seek and hide
You may say every day
Where will he stay tonight
I could be even here
I know I should be so near
My worst fear
Please give me a second chance
The first one counts as a faked romance
I fell deep down
The first time you were around
Now I just sit on the ground in your way
I could be even here
I know I should be so near
My worst fear….my worst fear…….goes by
Over and over…again
Old pictures open in my head
The day darkens down and goes away
It will never be the same again

Pure Aftertaste
01:59
|
|||
After a little while
We run out of time
The pure aftertaste of all the waste
I kneel on my knees
As I beg you please
All I could tell
Was how deep I fell
What’s on your mind
A sign of the times
Only you know why
Well can’t you tell
Who’s one in a million?
Roll all the tears and a bunch of fears
Don’t know what to do
My world depends on you
Your world is lost on me
Bad place to be
What’s on your mind
A sign of the time
Only you know why
Why the sun always shines on you
Why can’t I be you

Alone
02:30
|
|||
I’m sick and tired
Of all the things you say or do
All I want is you
Alone
I try so hard to find a way out
Straight into your arms
Where I always belonged
Alone

Satisfied
02:27
|
|||
Take your time
It won’t feel right
Don’t rely on
What you find
Choices come and go…..to hurt you
There’s nothing wrong
That wasn’t wrong before
And tears awake
Like pouring rain
It’s taking you down now
The same old fight again
I saw you twice
The first time lies
But now I know I could make you satisfied
Again back on your knees
From head to heals
Inside your head you’re dead…you’re dead
It’s taking you down now
The same old fight again
I saw you twice
The first time lies
But now I know I could make you satisfied

Feel
01:51
|
|||
I don’t want to know who you are
Somehow unreachable like a falling star
Why can’t you say those words
I long to hear
Try to feel the way I feel
From time to time our thoughts collide
We went through this sorry mistake twice
Why can’t you say those words
I long to hear
Try to feel the way I feel
Feel the way I feel

Wide Awake
02:11
|
|||
You cry all night long
It’s time to dream on now
Monday you sign on
Tuesday you fight all the doubts
A sip of wine and then it’s time
Start all over again
Just le me know
If you can help me explain
‘Cause now I live in wait for dawn to break
I’m wide awake
Find out where you belong
Ask yourself whose mind was it on
A sip of wine and then its time
To start all over again
Just le me know
If you can help me explain
‘Cause now I live in wait for dawn to break
I’m wide awake

Nameless
03:08
|
|||
In rays of light I clearly saw
By the rivers dark I will fall
It took me by surprise
I came back from where I’d been
There was nothing left to retrieve
In the light we’re gonna find out who we are
The nameless without a face
Will show you how
For sure you couldn’t take it no more
I came back from where I’d been
There was nothing left to retrieve
In the light we’re gonna find out who we are
The nameless without a face
Will show you how

Cut The Line
05:09
|
|||
Tears show the way
All this time we suffered and prayed
Streams of light in your eyes
Tell me something god
Will you… cut the line?
His weakening pulse next to mine
A downward spiral evident in time
Cut the line
Fallen face
Shadows hold the world in place
Am I supposed to count the days
Cut the line
His weakening pulse next to mine
A downward spiral evident in time
The well dressed man in my mind
I can still hear his voice….sing along
Babacik, please come back and talk to me
I miss you more than words can say

Achtschig Sirunag
03:38
|
|||
The armenian language has its own letters so for simplicity‘s sake I decided not to print the lyrics. But let me tell you that this song describes the love to a girl – achtschig sirunag means sweet girl – Karekin wrote the music and Kevork Senyar a friend of his the lyrics.
My father recorded this song in our kitchen about 20 years ago with a simple tape recorder. If you listen carefully you may hear my mother shutting the door in the background of the first refrain.
When I was a child he used to play “Achtschig Sirunag” along with songs of the Beatles, Simon and Garfunkel, Cat Stevens and Bob Dylan. It was always the song I loved most, maybe because it was closest to home being Armenian but mainly the melancholy of the melody got me wrapped up in it.
It was a very touching experience for both me and my brother Saro (who sang the second verse) to sing along with my father.
